Did you know that there is a free magazine on things happening in Helsinki every week?

It is called Helsiki This Week and gives you a whole lot of useful information and interesting articles.

You can find it at the tourist information, museums and hotels. Or you can also just check out their online version providing the same information and many useful links.

Once around the world at Stockmann

You wonder what time it is in Tokyo right now? Well at Stockmann’s magazine department (not Akateeminen) in Helsinki you can find out. The big clocks on the wall tell you how late it is around the world right now.

And while you are there you can browse through some magazines and newspapers from exactly those places. Stockmann has magazines from all over the world and definitely also something that interests you.

Student's magazine in a box

You might already have wondered why some students are selling small paper-made mailboxes on the street this year at Vappu. Well, actually the mailbox is just the wrapping for their traditional Vappu student magazine Äpy which is filled with jokes and wordplays.

The text is in Finnish though but if you don’t speak it that well yourself ask a Finnish friend to help you understand some of it.
