Microsoft Flagship Store

Already in the first half of 2014 the mobile and smartphone departments of Nokia were bought by Microsoft. The transition has taken a while but now the Nokia brand will vanish from the phones. 

And there is now also a change in the center of Helsinki. The former Nokia Flagship Store is now also visibly a Microsoft store. You can get mainly Microsoft hardware such as a Lumia phones, tablets and accessories here. But also Office and Windows software packages can be bought here.

The interior hasn't changed much but especially because of the good and competent service it is always worth a visit.

Nokia for your feet

Today Nokia is going to announce a new customer product on Slush. Let's see what that is going to be and when it is going to come to the market. But did you know that already today you can buy real Nokia products everywhere in Finland?

Nokia (or rather Nokian) rubber boots are probably the most common and most popular rubber boots in Finland. And even if Nokian is now independent they have common roots with the network and former cellphone Nokia.

Check out their shoes. They are available under the brands Nokian and Hai and are really good.

Microsoft moved in

The characteristic Nokia building at Keilaranta has changed its tenant and is now Microsoft's new home in Finland. Yesterday the new signs were put up. Starting from tomorrow the smart and mobile phone department at Keilaranta will start operating as part of Microsoft. 

Nokia now focuses on their remaining three businesses which are network infrastructure (NSN), location-based services (HERE) and Advanced Technologies. Nokia's Head Office is now based in Karakallio, Espoo.

There is something new at Nokia’s Flagship Store. To improve the customer service Nokia has gone made some small changes at their store on Aleksanterinkatu.

Not only can you get the new Lumia 925 here now already before it is available anywhere else in Finland. When buying a new phone you can also get it set up for you right away for free in the new Set Up Area.

Are you a fan of Nokia and would like to buy some Nokia merchandise. Before that was just possible at their head quarter’s in-house shop. Now selected products like sweaters, mouse pads, pens and more are also for sale at the Flagship Store.

Also for tourists this place is worth a visit. At the counter you can get a free Helsinki guide with lots of insider tips on where to go, what to see and to know about the city.

News from Nokia

Today the Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia will present its newest release in New York. What exactly it’s going to be is of course still a secret.

Insiders already have some guesses and expectations what Nokia is going to show today. ZNETdid a nice roundup of the rumors spread so far. There are many indicators that the first Windows Phone with 41 Megapixel PureView camera will be presented today.

Nokia Lumia 920 is here!

Today at 0:01 the first Nokia Lumias 920 were sold in Finland. People queued yesterday in front of the Verkkokauppa.com store in Jatkasaari to get one of the first phones. The demand is so high that not even all preorders could be served.

But Nokia is doing its best to get more on the market as soon as possible. The so called “most innovative smartphone in the world” can be ordered at every electronics store for 599 €. Or try it out yourself first at Nokia’s flagship store in the center on Aleksanterinkatu.

The Flagship Store is back

After months of renovation the Nokia Flagship Store reopened last Friday. Not just decoration and colors but also the whole concept of the store was changed.

There are lots of possibilities to experience the Nokia products and to interact with the devices. Try out the new Nokia loudspeakers and headphones, take pictures with the 42 megapixel camera of the Nokia PureView 808 or play games on the Lumia 900 or the X-Box.

You can even take a first look at the new Lumias 820 and 920. Unfortunately you can’t try them out since they are not on the market so far.

Something amazing is coming…

That is what is says at the flag ship store of Nokia in Aleksanterinkatu. It is the only store in the world that is actually owned by the Nokia Company itself. Currently the place is under construction and the new opening is scheduled for September 7^th.

After the huge problems the company had lately they need to come up with something great. But apparently they are working on something that is going to be revealed in September and the Nokia Flagship store will be part of that. So mark the date in your calendar and be surprised about what’s going to come.
