Discover the world at Messukeskus

Today at 12 the Travelfair Matka opens its doors for all visitors. Countries, resorts, tour providers, airlines and ferry companies present was they have to offer. Whiskey and beer expo

This is the weekend for beer and whiskey enthusiasts. And no, I am not talking about drunks but people that know to appreciate a good drop for craft beer or carefully distilled whiskey.

Olut Expo 2015

Today the Olut Expo starts at Kaapelitehdas. 47 exhibitors present their fine products to the visitors. It is of course about tasting here. For a reasonable price you can try the different drinks and enjoy exquisite brews and spirits.

The entrance to the expo is 15 € on Friday and Saturday and 10 € on Sunday. For all three days you pay 25 €.

New boat trends

Have you been thinking about buying your own boat for a while? Or would you just like to find out about the latest trends on the market? Then head to the Messukeskus for the Helsinki International Boat Show Vene/Båt.

Where the whole world meets

Today Helsinki's Matkamessut starts again. Traveldestinations from Finland and around the world will present themselves and present visitors their most exciting, relaxing and interesting sights.

Tickets to the event cost 30 €. The event takes place at Helsinki Messukeskus in Pasila and is open until Sunday.

The newest skiing trends

On this grey Sunday you probably don't want to spend too much time outside. Well, today is an excellent opportunity to check out the newest skiing and snowboarding trends. At Messukeskus it is the last day of the Ski Expo.

Books, books, books. This year's Helsinki Bookfair takes place this weekend. Find out about the lastest trends and best sellers, talk to publishers and authors and find a few new additions to your book selection at home.

Electronics and more at Messukeskus

Do you already have plans for the weekend? If you are interested in electronics, games, photography, filming and entertainment you should head to the DigiExpo at Helsingin Messukeskus. From Friday till Sunday Finnish and international companies present their new products there.

The entrance to DigiExpo is 16€ per day. The ticket also includes the entrance to the four other fairs taking place at the same time at Messukeskus: HIFIExpo, SkiExpo, board expo and Lätkä Säbä Expo.

An Event of Thousand Tales

The Helsinki Book Fair 2013 is open. Around 1000 writers, scientists, artists, opinion leaders and politicians will be on stage and over 700 presentations will be held at 12 different  venues. 


Of course big and small publishing companies will have their stands there as well and provide their own program.

This years guest land is Germany. And many renowned writers like Siegfried Lenz or Wladimir Kaminer will be at the book fair as well.

The event is hosted at the Helsinki Messukeskus. Entrance for adults is 16 €. The fair is still going on till Sunday and is open daily from from 10:00 till 18:00 (Friday till 20:00).

Recycling Factory takes over Kaapelitehdas



Kierrätystehdasis all about recycling, energy efficiency and sustainable lifestyle. Hundreds of ecological products from over 40 companies are waiting to be explored. Or join one of the workshops where you can learn handy things like how to sew a laptop bag or repair your bike yourself.





If you need a break in between try some of the delicious organic or vegetarian dishes at one of the restaurants and cafes. Also take a look at the schedule of the stage program.

One of the highlights is the Free of Charge Market. Bring stuff that you don’t need any more and find useful stuff that others brought there – all for free of course. For free is also the entrance to the event. Kierrätystehdas opens both Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 17:00.

What does the future look like?



First of all you should know that this Saturday is a National holiday in Finland. Almost everything will be closed. The reason is that this week Wednesday was Reformation Day and in Finland this holiday is always transferred to the next Saturday.


But there is still enough to do this weekend. Today started the Digiexpo at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center. Walk through over the fair and find out how the future of consumers electronics looks like. Big Finnish and international IT and electronics companies like Nokia, Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft are presenting their very newest products. Try out the new Windows 8 and check out Nokia's new Lumia 920. It's on display at the Nokia stand and will be introduced in a special presentation on all three days.

The entrance is 15 €. Of course discounts apply for children, families and groups. Digiexpo is open till Sunday. With your ticket you also have access to Hifi Expo, Skiexpo, BoardExpo and Ice Hockey & Floorball Expo which are all taking place at the same time.
