Espoo Jazz 2015

Hei jazz fans. If you don't have anything planned yet for the upcoming days then be prepared to fill up your calendar. Today the yearly Espoo Jazz Festival starts again.

A program filled with finest jazz is awaiting you. Finnish and international jazz musicians will play in different locations around Espoo. You can buy your tickets online from the official website. And some events are even for free. The festival goes on until Sunday.

You get to Espoo easily by bus from Kamppi. Have a look at the program and enjoy the music!

Jazz Finland Festival

Something great is coming up for Jazz fans again in Helsinki. This Thursday the Jazz Finland Festival 2014 starts. Until Sunday outstanding jazz performances take place in venues around the city. You get the chance to listen to some exquisite live acts played by some of Finland's finest jazz musicians.

Additionally the Jazz Finland Festival also includes seminars and networking events for jazz professionals. So if you are a musician yourself don't miss those.

The official opening of the festival will be on Thursday. But tomorrow there are already two first gigs at 20.00 at Koko Jazz Club and at 19.00 at Malmintalo. More information on the program and tickets can be found from the official website.

HelsinkiIn Music Tip: Tuomo

This new category will introduce you to some of Finland's finest and most popular musician that you should check out.

One artist you shouldn't miss out on is Tuomo. He makes excellent jazz music with occasional influences of pop and electro. In 2007 he was awarded by the Suomen Jazzliitto (Finnish Jazz Fedration) for best Finnish jazz artist. Among his biggest successes are the singles My Thing and Ordinary.

Jazz in Espoo

On the weekend the April Jazz Festival in Espoo reaches its climax. The festival that started already on Tuesday will go into full gear for the last three days.

In five locations in and around Tapiola you can listen to exquisite jazz from around the world. Even Grammy Award winners like Angelique Kidjo who will play on Sunday come to Espoo.

Tickets for the gigs are sold separately and can be bough online or from one of the outlets.

Vin Vin's Jazz Hug

You are a fan of Jazz? And of good wine? Then today is your day. The Vin Vin bar in the center of Helsinki has it's monthly Jazz Hug gig tonight.

Manuel Dunkel (sax) and Antti Lötjönen (bass) will be jamming tonight and will get you into the weekend mood. Enjoy a glass of excellent red or white wine and lean back in one of the big arm chairs or sofas while enjoying the music. The entrance is of course for free.

We Jazz 2013

The We Jazz Festival starts today. Till 14th December dozens of jazz bands and musicians will be performing in Helsinki. 

This is a must for jazz fans. Of course there is something for every taste. And even some special events are going to take place like e.g. a 3D concert on Tuesday at Kuudes Linja or a concert in complete darkness on Thursday at Teatteri Kallio.

Jazz by the sea

What about some fine Jazz and accompanied with some delicious food and all that right at the shore? During their Jazz Syksy 2013 Café Ursula at Kaivopuisto organizes still another three jazz evenings this year.

One of them will take place today. Tickets are quite pricy with 57 € per person but include a three course menu and some excellent jazz music. To check out the program and the menus served take a look at Café Ursula’s website. You can reserve tickets via phone or e-mail.

Jazz on Espan Lava

All of you who like jazz should come to Espan Lava on Esplanadi this week. At the free open-air Jazz Festival Jazz-Espa bands play every afternoon starting from 16:00.

On their website you can see what artists will be playing this week. You can either watch the performances from the benches in front of the stage or if you fancy a cold drink in your hand while listening to the relaxing jazz sounds just sit down at the terrace of Kappeli.

The big final of Jazz-Espa will be on Sunday at mbar with the long JazzPiknik from 14:00 till 1:30 at night. Several great jazz bands and artists will be performing.

Espoo has all that April Jazz

Jazz fans should be in Espoo this weekend where April Jazz takes place for the 27^th time. The festival with lots of amazing jazz artists already started on Wednesday. But lots of good music is still to come during the weekend. The concerts take place around Tapiola Kauppakeskus.

On the official website you find an overview of what is awaiting you on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Tickets for the main events can be bought online or ticket outlets around Finland.

Jazz in the city

From today till Saturday Teerenpeli presents finest jazz at their restaurants in Lahti, Tampere and of course Helsinki. If you are up for some smooth jazz in relaxed and cozy lounge atmosphere you shouldn’t miss this.

Every night some renowned jazz bands and singers will play live on stage. Grab a glass of Teerenpeli’s own brewed beer while you listen to the sound of Sami Saari Soulklubi feat. Heini Ikonen, Markus Ketola Rewired, Band of Sound or Jake’s Blues Band.
