More bubbles for Helsinki

Just recently a second bubble tea bar opened in Helsinki. It’s located at Asematunneli underneath the main train station and is called after the product it sells: Bubble Tea.

It is more of a take away and quite similar to most bubble tea places you can find in other big European cities. The selection of teas is huge here. Of course they offer both fruit and milky tea in different flavors. Next to the traditional tapioca pearls they also have fruity pearls and jelly pieces. There are thousands of different combinations. Just try and find your favorite.

Bubble teas start from 4,20 Euros here.

To Finland for reindeer

The Flash Bang Band from UK will come to Helsinki for 27/28/29 October. But they are not just here for a short sightseeing visit. The three guys from England are on a crazy mission to get 25 kilos of reindeer meat for a Scandinavian Punk Festival at Northern Lights in Brighton.

But to succeed their mission they would need some gigs here in Helsinki. They would play basically everywhere. So should you know a pub, café, restaurant or club or might even want to have them at your own house party e-mail them. You will also find more information on the band and their music on Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud and Youtube.

You are a band from Helsinki and have some good tips and suggestions for them? In exchange they would be more than happy to also help you out with contacts and gigs in England.

Now it’s your turn. Get active and help Flash Bang Band to accomplish their mission!

Stay updated on the project on HelsinkiIn!

Time travel on the street

When you are walking through the streets of Helsinki keep your eyes open for the picture path. It is a very special photo exhibition that takes spectators back several decades. The pictures show the city and its residents in exactly the same location where the picture was originally taken. Take a moment to look at them and to realize how much the city changed through time.

The photos are attached to electrical cabinets and can be found in Katajanokka, Töölö, Länsi-Pasila, Malmi, Kallio and western Herttoniemi.

Beetroot Block Party

Summer seems to be almost over but the sun is still warm and it’s probably one of the last chances for a street party this weekend. That’s why you should come to Viiskulma (five corners) in Punavuori.

Here the people from the area invite everyone for their amazing Punajuuri (Beetroot) Block Party tonight. The program starts already in the afternoon. There are activities for families, street performances, food and a lot of music already during the day.

In the night it’s time for the real party to start. Bands and DJs will perform in five different locations in the area. Check out the program on the official website.

Don’t miss it!
