The old coffee mashine broke? You need new pillows or a better vacuum cleaner? Then head to Kodin 1 in Ruoholahti. They are about to close and have big discounts on many of their products.

Sale at Kodin1 in Ruoholahti

You can save up to 50 % on some things. Might be worth to check it out if you need something. But don't spend too much time inside shopping. The weather today is beautiful and it would be a shame to miss out on that.

Underground by car

Underneath the city of Helsinki spans a huge tunnel system. Not only can you walk along there like mentioned earlier on HelsinkiIn. You can also drive through the tunnels.

Did you know that Stockmann is connected to the beginning of Ruoholahti underground? When you leave Stockmann’s parking lot you can follow the signs to Ruoholahti and will find yourself driving underneath the city for several hundreds of meters. It’s quite impressive and also good to know to avoid traffic in the inner city.

Lunch down by the sea

Just a few hundred meters away from Ruoholahti Metro station down by the water lays Ravintola Faro. Like a small steam boat that is towed to the pier it awaits its visitors for splendid food in a stylish ambient.

But not just the location between modern apartment houses right next to the sea makes Faro special. The big glass windows surrounding the restaurant make it bright and fit perfectly with the simple and modern interior.

And also the food does its part to complete the picture. For reasonable prices you get really nice dishes here during lunch hours. Every day they have one fish, one meat and one veggie dish as well as a steak of the day on their list. A small but really good salad bar is also included.

Go and give it a try! For more information check their website.

After Ruoholahti Kauppakeskus has been renovated and modernized among other things it’s now also a great place for burger lovers.

In the entrance hall of the shopping center NYC Burger opened. And they serve exactly what you expect them to – delicious burgers. Choose for example the Harlem Burger with juicy meat, cheddar cheese, pickles, lettuce and sauce served in a burger bun that comes straight from the oven. Or just grab a paper at the counter and build your own dream burger.

During lunch you get one changing burger with potato wedges for less than 10 €. Unfortunately you can’t see find their menu online so far. So just drop by and check it out yourself.

Enjoy!
