Good times as Bon Temps

How about trying out a new cafe this week? Maybe with a good afternoon coffee or a nice breakfast before heading to work?

breakfast at Cafe Bon Temps

A beautiful and cozy small place is Cafe Bon Temps in Meilahti on Mannerheimintie. Apart from several small and big, sweet and salty breakfast options they also have a good selection of teas as well as good coffees.

Sit down at one of the wooden tables or sink into one of the pillows on the window sill and relax while looking out onto one of Helsinki's busiest street.

Give it a try and enjoy!

Töölö's exhibitionists

No, this post is not about people running around naked in town. Nor is the wonderful small café in Töölö with the peculiar name The Exhibistionists.

But it is a place you should pay a visit to. The Exhibistionists on Museokatu has room for just a few customers but is dedicated to making their stay as cozy and comfortable as possible. While listening to French music from the loudspeakers feel free to grab one of the books from the shelf and let your thoughts travel. The occasional sip on a cup of good, freshly brewed coffee makes that experience even better.

The Exhibtionists is also a good choice for a bite in the morning. They serve breakfast every day of the week and on the weekend also offer brunch. For breakfast you can just drop by any time. Make sure to make a reservation for the weekend brunch though. As mentioned the seats there are limited so they need to know how many people are coming.

Give it a try!

Morning coffee at Picnic

The week starts again. Should you belong to the many people that have to pass through Kamppi every morning to get to work then change your morning routine for ones and stop for a hot cup of coffee at Picnic on the third floor. Here you can sit next to the window and have a nice view over the square between Kamppi Kauppakeskus and Tennispalatsi and see the sun slowly rising above the city.

Have a great start into the week!

Breakfast at Kauppatori

The weather is nice and you’d rather have a nice breakfast outside in the city than preparing and eating at home? Then try the delicious and healthy breakfast at Café Köket at Kauppatori next to Havis Amanda.

Breakfast at Café Köket on Kauppatori

Here you can choose between a small and a large breakfast. The prices are very reasonable especially taking into account that this Café Köket is located at the probably most touristy place in Helsinki. Included in the big breakfast are fruit salad, yoghurt, sandwich, coffee, juice and a sweet surprise for just a bit over 10 Euros.

And the location is exactly what makes Köket’s so special. Its terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a wonderful breakfast while observing the vivid life on the square around you.

FYI breakfast here is not just available on the weekend but every day.

Deutsche Bäckerei

Did you know that there is a German bakery in Punavuori? Crustum is located on Pursimiehenkatu and offers anything you will also find in a good bakery in Germany. No matter if it’s delicious Graubrot, crunchy Krustenbrot or wonderful sweet pastry.

Crustum is also a café. So sit down, enjoy your pastry together with a reasonably priced coffee and listen to German radio and read German magazines at the same time. Crustum is run by a German family who managed to make this place original.

Come and try it out!

Good breakfast for a good price

Just a few weeks ago the new restaurant and bar Kiila opened right in the center close to Stockmann. To attract potential visitors they offer a pretty good deal at the moment. On working days (8:00 – 10:30) breakfast buffet is just 3,90 €. That’s quite a reasonable price for a new, stylish restaurant in the center of Helsinki.

And not only the price but also the breakfast is really good. The buffet has porridge, muesli, jam, ham, cheese, croissants, buns, toast, eggs and fruit. So basically everything you can wish for. And amazingly also coffee and juice are included in the price. In the end you really just pay the 3,90€.

The offer and the place are highly recommendable.
