Happy Chanukah!

December is not just an important time for Christians to wait for Christmas. Around this time also the Jewish Chanukah takes place every year. This year it started in the evening of December 8th and lasts still till Sunday evening.

And did you know that Helsinki right in the center of Helsinki you can find one of the only two Synagogues in whole Finland? It was built in 1906 and is used by the 1,200-strong Jewish community of Helsinki. The Synagogue is located in the Kamppi district right behind the Radisson Royal Blue Hotel. The hotel was built that way that it is still possible to see the dome of the Synagogue behind it when standing on Runeberginkatu. More information as well as service and praying times can be found from the official website of the Jewish community in Finland.
