After months of renovations the Hietalahden
kauppahalli opened its doors again this morning. A lot of work was put into the
makeover. Still the old market kept its character.
After being the home of an antique market for
some time Hietalahden serves its original purpose again. Visitors can now buy
fresh groceries, delicious pastry, have lunch or just stop for a coffee.
The market hall is open Monday through Friday
from 8.00 till 18.00 and Saturdays from 8.00 till 16.00.

ReplyDeleteDid you know that the vendors are mostly evacuated from The Old Market Hall next to Market Square? It now has its turn to be renovated, should be ready in the summer 2014. In case someone is wondering where the favourite vendor has gone, or where all these magnificent sellers suddenly came from... :)
