Did you know that Finns drink more coffee than
any other nation in the world? In 2011 the consumption of roasted coffee was
9.7 kilo per person. On second thought that might not be so surprising after
all. Coffee is the Finns' magic potion to survive the cold and dark time of the
year. When you just have a few hours of sunlight per day it can become a challenge
to stay awake and concentrated. Especially when you are at work. That is also
why Finnish employers provide free coffee for their employees.
Finns love their coffee. And one thing is for sure: If you haven’t been
a coffee drinker before, as soon as you move to Finland you’ll become one.
