World Design Capital – not just in 2012

Finland is known for its world famous designs and designers. It special character lays in its simplicity. Especially wood plays an important role in Finnish design products. But Finnish design also convinces through being really practical and actually usable in everyday life.

There are few design items like e.g. the vase of Alvar Aalto that you will find in almost every Finnish household.

You are curious and would like to learn more about Finnish design products? Or did you already fall in love with the Finnish design? In both cases you should visit the Design Forum Shop next to Erotaja. Here they have a big selection of famous traditional and new, still quite unknown products. It’s fun to walk around and take a look at what they offer.

If you go one floor down you can visit changing design exhibitions. The entrance is for free.
And don’t forget stopping for a cake and a coffee at Kakku Galleria in the front of the shop. They serve some of the best cake you’ll find in the whole city.

If you really want to buy something, be sure to have enough money with you. Finnish design is not cheap.
